Horizontal Flammability

The Horizontal Flammability Test is a fire resistance test used to assess the flammability and fire propagation characteristics of materials, especially textiles and plastics. In this test, a horizontal specimen of the material is exposed to an open flame for a specified duration to determine its ignition and combustion behaviour.

Observation: The behavior of the specimen is observed as it is exposed to the flame. The test measures parameters such as ignition time, flame spread rate, and whether the material self-extinguishes after the flame source is removed.
